Introduction to Business Structure

In our last section we’re going to round out this discussion with talking about business structure. And when we say business structure what we’re really talking about are business entities and corporate governance. So with regard to business entities we’re going to talk about the different types of business entities and the various characteristics that each of the entities have such as formation, Compensation, things of that nature.

Now we can’t go into that in great detail in this short course but we cover it in depth in our business law course, both business entities and corporate governance. So with regard to corporate governance what do we mean by that? We’re basically saying what are the rules, the legal, Obligations under federal law and under state law, and what are the internal rules driven by the company organizational documents that determine how the corporation will be managed structurally, how decisions will be made, things of that nature.

So this material provides a solid foundation for jumping into any of our other courses.
