Introduction to Business Education
In this next section we’re going to move into looking at business education. We’ll begin by talking about what exactly is business education in various formats, we’ll answer the lurking question of do you really need a business degree to have a career. Successful business career or even to get started in business.
Then we’ll look at what are your options for business school education because there are a lot of different manners of pursuing formalized business education through business schools. We’ll look at things like the structure of a business education program if you were to enroll in any of these types of program.
And we’re going to specifically look at the MBA program. This is one of the most misunderstood and honestly exploited forms of business education by educational institutions. We’re going to look at or at least discuss what makes up a quality business school program or how you assess the quality of a program.
From there we’ll jump into what is the role of professors in a business school. If you’ve ever been curious about what level or career progression or title a professor holds and what that means because professors in a business school are not all created equal. Their title oftentimes signifies their role in the institution. So, I want to make that apparent to you, so that you understand.
Then we start talking about the major benefits associated with business school particularly in terms of learning and career development. We talk about learning from fellow students, experiential learning such as through internships, and then we talk about the subject matter or curriculum that you generally will follow in a business school in a formalized business program.
And then, lastly, we discuss the aspect of pursuing a new career or changing your career path. by going to business school. So this section is entirely concerned with what is business education and how you can use it for career advancement.
