Professor J. Mance Gordon founded The Business Professor, LLC (“TBP”) in 2012 as a student in the MBA program at Emory University’s Goizueta Business School. Already a licensed attorney and military veteran, Professor Gordon began creating open-sourced resources to facilitate business learners.

Professor Gordon continued this effort while working as a full-time professor, startup attorney, and pursuing various entrepreneurial ventures.

The Business Professor Academy was launched in 2024 to meet the needs of individuals in an ever-evolving learning and business environment.

J. Mance Gordon, the founder, is the sole, full-time employee of the business. Aside from him, the business employs a field of part-time employees and contractors to help make the business a reality.

We have one silent investor who provided the capital necessary to get our community off the ground.
